Richard Solomon, MD,
is the founder and Medical Director of the P.L.A.Y. Project located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was
previously Clinical Associate Professor & Section Chief of
Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of
Michigan and has over 15 years experience working with
children with autism. Under Dr. Solomon's direction, the
P.L.A.Y. Project has trained thousands of parents and
professionals throughout the United States and
internationally. The project was published in the scientific
journal AUTISM in May 2007. Dr. Solomon has also received a
NIMH grant to continue evaluating and researching the P.L.A.Y.
Project.

Patricia Wright,
Ph.D. is the National Director for Autism Services
with Easter Seals. She has provided consultative services to
schools and non-profit service agencies in California, Alaska
and Hawaii. Wright's expertise as an Autism Spectrum Disorder
educator, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and Assistive
Technology Practitioner inform her individualized approach to
creating effective treatment plans. She knows that early
diagnosis and intervention offer the best outcomes, but also
is a proponent of appropriate treatment for anyone with autism
at any age. She is well known as a presenter at national and
international educational conferences.
Kathryn Wage, MA, SLP-CCC has
been a practicing speech and language therapist for over 30
years. Her career includes positions as instructor at
CSU-Fresno, Speech Therapy Services in Fresno City and County
Schools, adjunct faculty member at Fresno Pacific University,
Diagnostic Specialist, and Assistant Superintendent for
Special Education students for the State of California. She is
currently in private practice and an innovator in providing
interventions in communication and reading for individuals
with autism and other disorders.

February 12-13
in Fresno, CA
February 12th:
Dr. Richard Solomon will
present the P.L.A.Y. Project Level 2
Workshop: "Floortime and P.L.A.Y. - Higher
Functioning Levels of Autism Spectrum
Disorders." This
workshop is for those who have already attended Dr.
Solomon's Level 1 Workshop. You will study the
following: current trends and research in Autism
Spectrum Disorders (ASD); strategies that promote
two-way communication; strategies that promote social
development; and higher skill levels in the DIR
(Floortime) Model.

for Individuals with Autism" the first half of the day.
For the second half, you will choose one of two options:
1) "Everyday Applications of Neuroscience" with
Kathryn Wage or 2) A Q&A session with a
panel of professionals who work with individuals with
ASD, and then "Promoting Social Skills Development for
Children with Autism" with Patricia Wright.

13th: Dr. Richard Solomon will
present the P.L.A.Y. Project Level 1 Workshop:
"Introduction to Floortime and P.L.A.Y.."
This introductory workshop will focus on the
Developmental, Individualized, & Relationship
Oriented (DIR) model of Stanley Greenspan, MD. The model
is especially useful for young children (ages 1.5 to 7)
with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
You will study the following: current trends and
research in ASD; how "affect" drives growth and
development; the importance of the neurological "Comfort
Zone"; basic DIR (Floortime) principles, strategies, and
techniques; and DIR intervention techniques with
children with ASD.
